  • Comp-Set Key Account Recap Report
Compare group activity between 2 years, using the hotels in your Comp Set. See monthly and yearly group activity and percentage changed between the 2 selected years. Compare the event saturation of the most active groups between the same 2 years. Will only work if you have a Comp Set built.

Sheet 1:

*The metrics behind ‘events days’ includes the number of events that the specified group held during that year, and if it was a multi-day event, each additional day counts as its own separate event (i.e one event that lasted 4 days is counted as 4 separate events on this report)

  1. These 3 columns will only be included on this report if Knowland currently collects data on your property.
  2. This column is representing the number of total events days* the specified group held at your
Comp Set Collection during the year 2015 (does not include your property)
  3. This column is representing the number of total events days* the specified group held at your
Comp Set Collection, during the year 2016 (does not include your property)
  4. This column is representing the number of total events days* the specified group held at your
Comp Set Collection, during the years 2016 and 2015 (does not include your property)

    2015
  6. This column is representing the number of total events days* your hotel had during the year
    2016
  7. This column is representing the number of total events days* your hotel had during the years
    2015 and 2016.
  8. This column is representing the percent difference between how many event days* took place
at your hotel for 2015 and 2016, compared to how many events days* that took place at your
Comp Set hotels PLUS your hotel for 2015 and 2016. (Example for Kaiser Permanente-
    (20/(175+20)=10.26%)
  9. Percent Change of events between the years 2015 and 2016. This is measured by event days*
and will not include your hotel statistics (Example for Kaiser Permanente-((105-70)/105)= 33.333

Sheet 2:

sheet2.png

*Sheet 2 is providing you with the same information as sheet 1. The only difference here is that this table breaks down these numbers by both years AND months within each year.

  1. The number of event days* for each specified year is the total number of event days* for your property, as well as your Comp Set hotels.

Sheet 3:

sheet3.png

  1. Sheet 3 is providing you with the same information as the previous two sheets, but refines the data further by providing you with details on who the top 10 most active groups were at each of your Comp Set hotels (In alphabetical order)
  2. The amount of event days* provided to you in this table will not include your hotel, and are only counting event days* the specified group held at the Comp Set Hotel they are listed under.

  • Knowland Meeting Room Occupancy Analysis
See how effective hotels in your Comp Set are at filling function space. Compare available meeting space with meeting space used amongst the properties in your Comp Set. Filter by date range of bookings and specific hotels in your Comp Set. Will only work if you have a Comp Set built.

Total Mtg Rms:  How many rooms that hotel actually has that they can hold events in.  This number is maintained by the FRs based on readerboard data.  This will include all permutations that you can configure a space in.  For example, Ballroom A, Ballroom B, Ballroom A+B (for a space with a divider, etc) is 3 rooms in this count.  If you have a ballroom, but it has airwalls that could make it into multiple spaces, that number reflects all the ways that one ballroom can be broken up by.  It's basically all room configurations that have ever been posted on readerboard for events.

Mtg Rm Share:  The percentage reflecting the amount of meeting rooms that property has out of the total amount of meeting rooms of all the properties in your comp set.  If all the hotels listed have 100 rooms available, and a specific hotel has 10 rooms, they would have 10% of the total share.

Mtg Rms Occupied:  The number of meeting rooms that were actually used during the dates selected.

Mtg Rm Occupied Share:  Same as the Mtg Rm Share, but based upon the rooms that were actually used.

Mtg Rm Occupancy:  Calculated by Mtg Rm Occupied Share divided by Mtg Rm Share.  If they filled a higher percent (share) of the comp set than the percent (share) they have available, this will reflect an over 100% number because they're exceeding the percentage (share) of the expected comp set.  Higher numbers are better here because they show they are doing better than their competitors at filling space.

Example (see below image):  In this comp set, the Willard has 33 meeting rooms.  The comp set has 340.  The Willard owns 9.71% of the comp set meeting rooms.

In this comp set (for the date range), the Willard filled 19 meeting rooms.  The comp set filled 131. The Willard filled 14.50% of the comp set meeting rooms used.

The Willard owned only 9.71% of the available meeting rooms, BUT filled 14.50% of the rooms used in entire comp set.

The Willard exceeded its meeting room share occupancy since it filled more than it had access to compared to other hotels in comp set.  (14.50% / 9.71% = 149.43%)
