*The metrics behind ‘events days’ includes the number of events that the specified group held during that year, and if it was a multi-day event, each additional day counts as its own separate event (i.e one event that lasted 4 days is counted as 4 separate events on this report)

  1. These 3 columns will only be included on this report if Knowland currently collects data on your property.
  2. This column is representing the number of total events days* the specified group held at your
Comp Set Collection during the year 2015 (does not include your property)
  3. This column is representing the number of total events days* the specified group held at your
Comp Set Collection, during the year 2016 (does not include your property)

  7. This column is representing the number of total events days* your hotel had during the years
    2015 and 2016.
  8. This column is representing the percent difference between how many event days* took place
at your hotel for 2015 and 2016, compared to how many events days* that took place at your
Comp Set hotels PLUS your hotel for 2015 and 2016. (Example for Kaiser Permanente-
    (20/(175+20)=10.26%)
  9. Percent Change of events between the years 2015 and 2016. This is measured by event days*
and will not include your hotel statistics (Example for Kaiser Permanente-((105-70)/105)= 33.333

Sheet 2:

*Sheet 2 is providing you with the same information as sheet 1. The only difference here is that this table breaks down these numbers by both years AND months within each year.

  1. The number of event days* for each specified year is the total number of event days* for your property, as well as your Comp Set hotels.

Sheet 3:

sheet3.png

  1. Sheet 3 is providing you with the same information as the previous two sheets, but refines the data further by providing you with details on who the top 10 most active groups were at each of your Comp Set hotels (In alphabetical order)
  2. The amount of event days* provided to you in this table will not include your hotel, and are only counting event days* the specified group held at the Comp Set Hotel they are listed under.

Knowland Meeting Room Occupancy Analysis
See how effective hotels in your Comp Set are at filling function space. Compare available meeting space with meeting space used amongst the properties in your Comp Set.  Includes filters for date range of bookings and specific hotels in your Comp Set.

NOTE: ALL TOTALS AND COMP SET CALCULATIONS ARE FOR YOUR COMP SET ONLY AND DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR MEETING ROOM OCCUPANCY DATA.  IF YOUR PROPERTY DATA IS AVAILABLE YOU WILL SEE IT DISPLAYED ALLOWING YOU TO COMPARE YOUR PROPERTY AGAINST YOUR SELECTED COMP SET.

Total Meeting Rooms Available:  Calculated by the number of days collected times the count of active meeting rooms associated with the hotel.  Meeting Room counts include all room configurations.  For example, Ballroom A, Ballroom B, Ballroom A+B (for a space with a divider, etc) is 3 rooms in this count.

Total at the bottom is the sum of the comp set's Total Meeting Rooms Available.

Mtg Rms Avail_Fair Share %:  Calculated by Total Meeting Rooms Available divided by the Comp Set total of Total Meeting Rooms Available.  The percentage reflects the amount of meeting rooms that property has out of the total amount of meeting rooms of all the properties in your comp set.  Example: HotelA has 10 Total Meeting Rooms Available and the entire comp set has 100 Total Meeting Rooms Available therefore HotelA 10% of the Meeting Rooms Available Fair Share.

Mtg Rms Occupied:  Number of rooms used.  Distinct room/day/group instances associated to events within report date range.  Example: RoomA was used for 3 days and was therefore counted 3 times.  RoomB was used 3 times in a single day by a single group and was therefore counted 1 time.  RoomC was used 1 time by groupA and 2 times by groupB and was therefore counted as being used twice.

Total at the bottom is the comp set total for "Meeting Rooms Occupied" divided by the comp set total for "Total Meeting Rooms Available".

Mtg Rms_Actual Share %:  Calculated by Meeting Rooms Occupied divided by the Comp Set total of Meeting Rooms Occupied.  The percentage reflects the amount of meeting rooms that property used out of the total amount of meeting rooms used of all the properties in your comp set.  Example: HotelA has 10 Meeting Rooms Occupied and the entire comp set has 100 meeting room occupied therefore HotelA has a 10% Meeting Rooms Actual Share.

Mtg Rm Occupancy %:  Calculated by Mtg Rm Occupied divided by Total Meeting Rooms Available.  If they filled a higher percent (share) of the comp set than the percent (share) they have available, this will reflect an over 100% number because they're exceeding the percentage (share) of the expected comp set.  Higher numbers are better here because they show they are doing better than their competitors at filling space.  Example: HotelA has ten meeting rooms available per day and we read HotelA 3 days a week giving them 30 Meeting Rooms Available (MRA).  On day one they occupied 5 meeting rooms, day two they occupied 12 meeting rooms, and day 3 they occupied 3 meeting rooms giving them a total of 20 Meeting Rooms Occupied (MRO).   So 20 MRO/30 MRA gives them a Meeting Room Occupancy rate of 66.67%.

Total at the bottom is the sum of the comp set's MRO%.

MRO Penetration %:  Calculated by Mtg Rms_Actual Share divided by Mtg Rms Avail_Fair Share.  Compares what the comp set property could have filled (compared to the rest of the comp set) to what they actually filled (compared to the rest of the comp set).
